En Passant: Presidential or Panic?

I don't know if the President giving the speech on the state of the economic crisis yesterday really soothed any nerves. I wonder if there were people that had not become aware of our economic problems that became aware last night. Is it possible that the President could have created more panic? There may be many people that heard him lay out the list our problems that will decide to cash in their 401k today. I guess we will just have to wait and see how the markets react today.
