Kimberly-Clark Scott Tissue Paper Is Too Expensive For America

Okay, I haven't posted a blog entry in several months, but this just upsets me enough that I had to mention it. Hopefully a representative from Kimberly-Clark reads this and brings it to the attention of management.

I just got back from purchasing some goods for the week. I have been a loyal Kimberly-Clark Scott Tissue user for many, many years. The product is durable and usually reasonably priced. However, when I went to restock my cabinet, I realized that the new Scott Tissue Paper is more narrow than the old roll. Less paper for the same price. At a time when Americans are suffering from a really bad economic situation, Kimberly-Clark decides to scam their customers.

Here's the comparison:

The old roll was 115.2 Sq. Ft. / Each sheet was 4.5 x 3.7 in.
The new roll is 104.8 Sq. Ft. / Each sheet is 4.1 x 3.7 in.

They shaved 0.4 inches off the sides of each roll. Despite what the mainstream press would have you believe, this is the kind of price inflation Americans all around the country are facing. We are being nickeled and dimed.

The new roll says "Now Stronger!" which is a baloney qualitative statement used in marketing to cover-up the fact that they are giving you less paper. I wish that Kimberly-Clark wouldn't insult our intelligence. It's bad enough that they are charging the same amount for a smaller roll.

Until Kimberly-Clark brings back the old rolls of Scott paper, I will be buying a different brand of tissue paper.

After initially posting this, I found more information online. This isn't the first time they've reduced roll size. I found another interesting page written about the shrinking of Scott Paper by Kimberly-Clark Worldwide. You should check it out here:
