PHR Blog Topics

PHR Blog Topics

After some thought, I am going to add and revise some of the categories of my blog to include labels for each part of the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) exam.  The reason for this is three-fold.  First, I would eventually like to sit for the exam, and this could help me with some advance studying.  Second, there are some HR topics that I have discussed previously that did not fall as naturally as I would have liked into my existing category structure.  Third, and most important, is to make it easier for any of my readers to find the information that is relevant to their interest.

The weighting of the most recent PHR exam is as follows:

Parts of the PHR
Exam Weighting
Workforce Planning and Employment
Employee and Labor Relations
Human Resource Development
Total Rewards
Strategic Business Management
Risk Management

I will describe the PHR exam and each of those parts in more detail in my next post.  For the purposes of blog categories, Human Resource Development will cover discussion of the PHR exam.  Within the PHR test itself, Training and Development is considered part of Human Resource Development.  I will keep it as a separate category so that I can drill down.

Hopefully this explains the next direction my blog will be moving.

And remember all of you Human Resources professionals: Be Human... Be a Resource... Be a Resource for Humans.
